Did you know that over 70% of organizations have made no plans or provision for long-term archiving of electronic records, with no policies for migrating to new media, translating formats, or virtualization of applications? Join us for a discussion of the state of electronic records management—learn about trends and how they will affect your organization (or chortle in glee at the thought of your competitors following some of the “worst practices” we’ll describe).

Ediscovery. Risk. Email. Tweets? Lost data. By now, everyone understands that maintaining control of vital corporate records is a key element of organizational success and minimizing risk. AIIM research reveals current trends and points toward important issues for 2010 and beyond.  Discover the trends that will affect managing records in the coming years and get ahead of the curve.

Even though not all content is an official record, all content needs to be managed and centrally governed. While the findings do indicate that management of electronic records lags behind that of paper records, an encouraging number of organizations are homogenizing their electronic and physical policies and practices. Join us to discover if your organization is leading or lagging.

If you can't join us but would like to participate from your desk, you can register here:  http://www.aiim.org/events/webinar-State-of-ERM-2009.aspx

About our chapter & website...

Having just received our Chapter Charter in May, we are asking for everyone's input and participation in the coming months as our Chapter grows and creates opportunities for Western Colorado records managers, practitioners, and professionals to learn, network, collaborate, and share information!

For 2009-10, we are working on several educational and networking events!
For dates and more details, please see our
Calendar page.

  • Chapter meetings, workshops, & tours in Sept - Nov - March - June
  • Full day educational seminar on May 7
adjacent to CMCA/wcoARMA workshop on May 6
  • Community activities & presentations in April - RIM Month!
"RIM 101" for local businesses, free community shred days
  • Informal lunch webinars in Grand Jct in Oct - Dec - Jan - Feb

For your convenience, our webpages are loaded with links to other pages and even other websites; likewise, many of our presentations have live links as well!  If you mouse over a word or graphic and the "Windows hand" appears, you can jump to the linked page or website with just a single click of your mouse.  (For example, in the second bullet below there are four separate links that will take you directly to the ARMA International webpage for the item listed.)  If you find any broken links or have any to suggest, please let us know!

We are happy to share details via this website about everything below and more!

We even have a wcoARMA BLOG, open to all members of this website!

Please note: Membership on this website is free, but different from and not comparable to membership in ARMA International or the Western Colorado Chapter - neither of which are free.  Please check out the "Join Us" page for details about joining ARMA and wcoARMA, or contact Susan Sale, Membership Director, at ssale@mesastate.edu.  Thanks!

To navigate this site simply click on the pages listed in the light green bar at the top of each page.

Please spend some time with us!  Share your thoughts on the "Opinions Wanted" page.  Comment on (or post!) a blog.  Browse our presentations and photos.  Check out our links.  Let us know your ideas for events, news, and suggestions for improving our website by clicking on the "Contact Us" page, or email us at wcoARMA@gmail.comWe WANT to hear from YOU!

Please check back often as we will update this site regularly.
